Auditioning for LMSO

Auditions

The LMSO especially encourages interested musicians of the following instruments to audition.

Violin - Viola - Cello - String Bass - Bassoon - French Horn

Here is information about our audition process.

Auditions occur on a rotating basis. If you'd like to audition, you may do so at any time during the concert season.

Auditions take place on regular rehearsal nights. Rehearsals are held at the Lexington Middle School from 7:15 to 9:45 p.m. on Tuesday nights. You will be given the date for your audition in advance.

Please email the Personnel Manager if you are interested in attending a rehearsal and auditioning.

The preparation you'll need is to play the required audition music (excerpts of well-known orchestral pieces) plus a selection of your own choosing.
